Your Gifts
"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms." I Peter 4:10
I love this verse. The gifts that God has given me are different than someone else's. I can minister with my gifts. Another can minister with her gifts. What freedom for the journey.
We don't have to compare. In fact, comparisons can often be lethal. If we start comparing, we may get puffed up that we can accomplish something someone else can't. Conversely, we can get so discouraged that we don't match up to someone else. What strain and unnecessary baggage for our journey. . He calls us to be like Jesus, not our best friend or heroine!
God offers freedom for the journey. He says His burden and yoke are easy and light.
I remember a children's story by Sally Streib. She asked, "What would happen if an elephant tried to do what a butterfly does?" Just think of that. Can you imagine what our flower beds would look like? God didn't ask the elephant to be anything but how God created him. Elephants do what elephants do best-and it's not to be butterflies!
What gifts of various forms has God given you for your journey?
